		<description>The problem with biodegradable anything is commercial composers are not readily accessible to many.   I don&#039;t even know of one in New Jersey where I live.  Hopefully, in time more commercial composters will spring up. 
 
Is the bottle compostable in a backyard composter or does it need to be broken down with special enzymes? </description>

Yes, the bottles are fully compostable in a home composter it just takes a little longer than with a commercial composter, which probably isn&#039;t a problem for most people.  The important things is that it will eventually brake down fully.
