ZAP is a scam. They survive on pump and dump stock. They issue large blocks of new stock to themselves, then announce a new product/contract/production agreement, which makes the stock jump up and then sell their newly minted shares. Some of these announcements have been proven to be outright lies. SEC has been notified but says they have not persued litigation as ZAP is a small player and they have much bigger fish to fry with limited resources.

A notable exception to your list is the Indica EV http://www.treehugger.com/files/2008/12/tata-indica-plug-in-electric-car-unveiled-bologna.php?daylife=1

Still not much out there. I guess step one is to get good electric cars on the road. Prices should drop pretty fast after that. I really like the IMEIV. What's with the the Bolloré Bluecar?

@green We haven't included the Honda Hybrid because this post is about fully electric vehicles. We did include the Toyota Prius as an exception to this rule just to contrast it with the other electric vehicles. The reality is that whilst Hybrids are a step in the right direction, they are still significantly less efficient than fully electric cars.

ZapWorld is unfortunately not what you want to be out there to get people excited about EV's. They have weird-looking 3-wheeled vehicles that look like a combination of a Willy Wonka car and a scaled up matchbox vehicle. Craftsmanship is terrible, these are made in China and look like they would last for about 1,000 miles before a wheel fell off. The 3 wheels is actually to get around safety laws in the U.S. They are a publicly traded company although I have no idea how they've been in business as long as they have because I don't think they've ever been profitable. The showroom at their dealership is surprisingly large though as is their wearhouse/inventory. If they made the cars look a little bit nicer they may do okay.
