Quick Overview

An Inconvenient Truth is a documentary from former Vice-President Al Gore on climate change. It makes the compelling case that global warming is real, man-made, and its effects will be cataclysmic if we don’t act now.

Product Description

An Inconvenient Truth is one of the most famous, and potentially most important, documentaries of all time. Written and presented by former vice-president Al Gore, it is basically a filmed version of a PowerPoint lecture that Al Gore had been presenting for many years to audiences all over the world. The low-key approach of presenting a series of charts, graphs and stats leave little room for doubt about man-made global warming, and Al Gore's engaging style make the film very enjoyable. An Inconvenient Truth leaves the viewer shaken, involved and inspired.

Why It's Good
An Inconvenient Truth has had such an impact on the world that Al Gore was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. His simple slide show on climate change has both galvanized politicians into action, and encouraged individual users to change their lifestyle. The DVD itself is not particularly green (it's not made from any specially green materials or packaging), but it's power to persuade viewers means it more than deserves a place in our store.

How to recycle
Extend the life of the DVD by sharing it around friends and family. The more people you share the DVD with, the fewer people will buy their own copy, whilst still getting the film's message. Store the DVD in it's case and keep out of direct sunlight to prevent scratches and extend the life of the disk. If the disk becomes unusable, recycle it in home craft projects like a homemade CD coaster.
The plastic DVD case can be recycled in municipal plastic recycling facilities.
